Clyde Warren “CW” Travis, Jr.

Clyde Warren “CW” Travis, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2026, in Priest River, Idaho.

CW was born in Denver, Colorado, to Sarah Elizabeth Potts and Clyde Warren Travis, Sr. He grew up in Colorado and Idaho and attended New Plymouth High School, joining the National Guard while still in school. Throughout his career, CW worked as a manager for irrigation districts across Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. Over the years, he called many places home, including Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and the Philippines, before settling in Priest River, Idaho.

CW loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising livestock. He took great pride in his Appaloosa horses, Black Angus cattle, chickens, dogs and Kissy Cat who was his constant companion in the final years of his life.

A talented woodworker, CW crafted furniture and other custom pieces that reflected his skill and creativity. He traveled to many craft markets to sell his work and share his creations with others. He also enjoyed gardening and tending a large garden, preserving much of what he grew.

CW was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Cherry Holm and Linda Trunnel; his brother, Jerry Travis; his uncle, Joy Potts; his partner, Maricel Woods; many nieces and nephews; and his three daughters and their families: Tawna LeAnn Travis and Rodney Mortensen; Tanette Noel Travis- Lawless and Brian Lawless; and Tacia Marie Robinson and Sean Robinson.

CW enjoyed a quiet life in the country. A memorial service will be held in Newport, Washington at Sherman-Campbell Funeral Home 423 W. Second Street, Newport, WA 99156 on August 20th at 10:00 am. A celebration of life will be held in Boise, Idaho, at a future date. His ashes will be spread in the wilderness he loved so much.
