Priest River

Obituary

Cherrie Ella Savage passed away at home after a extended illness on May 25th, 2026. Cherrie was born at Lourdes Hospital in Pasco, WA, on May 15, 1951, to Donald and Pattie Ricard.
Cherrie had a way of making people she met feel loved, welcomed and like family. Her strength, humor, and kindness touched everyone she met. She found joy in simple meaningful moments and treasured the people she shared them with. She was spunky and feisty in the best of ways, was full of personality, honesty, humor and heart.
She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, growing up in Spokane and Priest River raising her two sons Rich and Kevin, with love.  She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her being quick to lend a hand to anyone in need who crossed her path. Cherrie was also a world-class hunter and loved her fishing and outdoors spending a lot of time enjoying it. Over the years, she loved to host friends and family on the Ricard property building her legendary bonfires.
Being a master at gardening she created the most beautiful gardens and yards throughout her life. She loved to see new places and lived in Priest River, Spokane, Haines Alaska, Port Angeles, and Newport, among others, over the years. She always wanted to see the rest of the country so earned her CDL and drove for Warner all across the USA before returning to Idaho.
She spent her retirement years taking care of her husband Dan in Priest River, tending her beautiful garden and visiting with her friends and neighbors. Cherrie never knew a stranger; she was always positive and looked at life as an adventure to be enjoyed. She was an amazing cook and her 5-berry jam was a family favorite, so good that it was sold in Priest River. If you ever had it you know how amazing it was.  Cherrie was very proud of her grandchildren Emma and Braden, and her stepchildren Danny and Cassie, as well as everyone she took under her wing. She will be greatly missed and the world is a little less bright without her immense light.
She was preceded in death by her baby sister, Glenda, and her parents, Donald and Pattie Ricard. Cherrie is survived by her husband Dan, Sons Rich and Kevin (Caroline), stepchildren Danny(Dawn) and Cassie, grandchildren Emma and Braeden, sister Victoria (Gene), brother Richard  (Patti), nieces Doniella (Rob), Richelle( James), nephews Jason, Dominique, Ryan (Alisha), sister in law Karen(Larry)  as well as other extended family and many friends.
