Carolyn Giddings was called to take her place with the angels on Friday, January 15, 2021. She was 80 years old. Carolyn was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on October 7, 1940, to George and Waunita (Bright) Ball. She was the second of six children. Carolyn was young when her family moved from Lincoln to Cypress, California, but she did her best to make sure her siblings were happy. She soon began working for Craig Hoffman of Hoff's Hut Restaurant in Long Beach, Ca., where she did the payroll and books for all of his restaurants. They soon became good friends and Carolyn was indispensable to the company. She worked for Hoff's Hut for many years before she met her husband, Vard Giddings. They married in Las Vegas, NV in 1965 and made their home in Cerritos, Ca.  Six years later, they welcomed a daughter, Trina, into their family. In 1981, they decided to leave the fast paced life of Calif.,  and moved their family to Newport, WA, where they bought Kelly's Tavern. She took on another job working for the Public Works Dept. along with doing the books for the Newport Library. In what little spare time that she had she loved to play Bingo at the VFW in Newport. Carolyn eventually retired from the County in 2006. Carolyn leaves behind her husband of 55 yrs., Vard Giddings, her daughter, Trina Giddings; 2 grandchildren, Michael (Franz) Giddings of Salem, OR. and Sarah Giddings of Newport; 2 sister's, Marilyn Rixon and Doreen Spring of Grass Valley, CA. and 2 brother's, George Ball of Grass Valley, CA and Kenneth Ball of Cypress, CA. She joins a sister, Colleen Youngbloom, her mother and her father in heaven. Carolyn was an amazing wife, mother, sister and daughter.
