Carolee (Dunbar) Griffith died on July 16, 2024, with her daughter and devoted dog beside her at the River Mountain Village Advanced Care in Newport, Washington. Carolee was known by many names: Carol, Mom, Nana, and Nan. She was born in the Spokane Valley area on September 22, 1940. She was raised on a farm in Camden, Washington, where she was active in 4-H, grange, and school. She and her husband raised their family in Elk and were a big part of the Riverside community. Carolee is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Griffith; her daughter, Janet Griffith; her step-granddaughter, Charlene Smith; and her parents Bud and Susie Dunbar. She is survived by her daughter Julie Campos (Armando); her three grandchildren and their families: Josh Griffith (Sara) Peytyn, Harper, & Willow; Jeremy Griffith (Amy & ex-wife Amber) Taylor (great-great-grandson Robert), Mason, Conrad, Jovy, Bohdi, & Elowin; and Nellie Smith, Josiah & James; her step-grandchildren Rachel Anderson (Nick) and Brian Smith and their children; her aunt, Jeannie (Dunbar) Buckley; her half-sister, Linda (Marcuson) Smolden; numerous other extended and blended family members, as well as much loved nieces and nephews.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" for Carolee at the Camden Grange followed by a potluck reception on September 22, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.. All who knew her during her almost 84 years are invited.
