Carl Edward Pitts, Jr was born September 29, 1932 to Mary and Carl Pitts, Sr. He left his earthly life on January 19, 2026. He was raised in Priest River, Idaho and graduated from Priest River High School in 1950. After graduation he entered the logging industry where he worked with his brother and made lifelong friends. On September12, 1969, Carl and his beloved Maxine were married. They celebrated 56 years together in 2025. In 1970, he started Carl Pitts Well Drilling. He drilled many wells throughout the area with his boys.  His many loves included first and foremost immediate and extended family. Beyond this, he loved fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and traveling. In their travels, Carl and Maxine went through four motor-homes and 50 states. Reunions whether family, friends or classmates, were prized. He always had a story to tell, and his laughter at the end of the story (whether about himself or others) was contagious throughout the room.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob Pitts, Henry Pitts, and Jack Pitts, sisters, Mary Ellen Schmidt, and Janet Bitten; children, Pam Pitts, Robin Nalley, John Pitts and Steven Pitts. Carl is survived by his wife Maxine; sister, Melody Waller; son, Joe Ockert; grandchildren, Craig Nalley, Dakota Ockert, Katie Pitts, and Kennedy Kesner; great-grandchildren, Diego Pitts, Michael Pitts, Casey Nalley, Cryss Nalley, Howard Kesner, and Dutton Ockert.

Carl lived with a grace filled and loving heart for family, friends and his communities. To say he will be missed is an understatement. A reunion in his memory will be held at a later date.
