Bruce Cameron Timblin was born February 19, 1949 at the old Bonner county hospital when it was still in a house in Sandpoint, Idaho. He died at his home near Oldtown, Idaho on the evening of Jan. 24 2019. He was the oldest child of Melvin Timblin and Viola Montgomery Timblin. Bruce is survived by his wife Dora Timblin, two children; Tracy Lerman of Phoenix, Arizona, Sean Timblin of Bonney Lake, Washington and 5 grandchildren. Also his brothers Mark Timblin of Sandpoint, Rex and Margie Timblin of Laclede, Idaho, Half-brother Stephen Timblin of Anchorage, Alaska, Damon and Eve Timblin of Metaline Falls, Washington, his half-sisters Jennifer and Larry Maupin of Ione, Washington, Bridget Timblin and step-mother Patricia Timblin both of Metaline Falls, Washington. He was preceded in death by both his parents, beloved sister Marcia Timblin Crabb of Sagle, Idaho, step-father Arie Poelstra and step-sister Pamela Richards.

Bruce attended a 2 room schoolhouse in Colburn, Idaho, then the Sandpoint Jr. High and graduated from Sandpoint Sr. High. In 1968 Bruce and his cousin Dennis Timblin joined the marines. He married Terry Olsen before leaving for Vietnam. After working as a truck driver in Sandpoint, he joined the navy and served on 4 different ships in the Pacific. He retired with the rank of Senior Chief in 1993. He moved to Sagle, Idaho and worked in logging with brother-in-law Bruce Crabb and later as a truck driver. He married Dora Kubischke in 2000 and moved to their present home near Oldtown, Idaho.

Friends and family of Bruce Timblin are welcome to attend a memorial service at the Sandpoint VFW on Wednesday March 20th, beginning at noon. Anyone who would like may bring a dish for the luncheon.
