Bob Lee
Coleman
Jun 8, 1944 — Aug 11, 2023
Newport
Bob Coleman passed away into the arms of his Savior on August 11th, 2023, while pursuing his favorite passion of hunting and enjoying the outdoors. He spent his life protecting and preserving the outdoors and its wildlife for the next generation as a Washington State Wildlife Officer. Our family is deeply saddened by the sudden loss but finds solace in knowing God called Him home while he was doing what he loved.
He was born on June 8th, 1944, to Enic and Edith Coleman (Storms). He lived in Spokane during his youth and transferred to Newport High School after moving in with the family Hero and Patriarch Bill Storms. While attending Newport High School, He met and fell in love with the love of his life Rosie Coleman (Miltner). They were married upon Graduation and enjoyed 60-plus years of marriage where they raised a son and daughter, Bobby and Kimberly Coleman.
His professional life included working for Boeing and Diamond International, which allowed him to pursue his dream of becoming a Law Enforcement Officer. He obtained this goal by working as a Newport City Marshall and then transferring to the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office as a Patrol Deputy. He loved being a Deputy Sheriff, but his true passion was to become a Washington State Wildlife Officer. Hard work, Patience and Perseverance facilitated Him in obtaining his goal. He retired in 2002 and one of his favorite experiences and memories involved seeing a young child catch their first fish combined with the looks and excitement they would display while enjoying the outdoors with their families. He also saved a woman's life who wanted to commit suicide life by wrestling a pistol away from her thus displaying his love and devotion to his duty to Protect and Serve.
He is Preceded in death by his mother Edith Shaw and Father Enic Coleman. He is survived by his Wife of 60 plus years Rosie Coleman (Miltner) his son Bobby and Marie Coleman (Grantham), Kimberly Coleman, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Darlene Brown, Dee Foster and his Brother Billy Shaw along with numerous cousins' nieces and nephews. He will be missed, and the family finds comfort in knowing He is in Heaven serving God by preparing the luscious outdoors that we will experience when we join him. As per His request, a private family celebration of life will be conducted.
