Barbara Jean
Pettikas
Oct 5, 1943 — Oct 9, 2019
Newport
Barbara Jean, Barbara Jean, prettiest thing you've ever seen! Aka Barbara Jean Pettikas. Happy, sassy and full of fun! Barbara completed her life's journey here surrounded by her loving family singing and praying on October 9, 2019.
Barbara was born October 5, 1943 (she waited around for her birthday. Her last bite of food was her chocolate birthday cake). Always the life of the party. Happily married to Leontios Pettikas but he left this earth early to organize a welcoming party for her. She was a handful but adored by her awesome parents, Charles and Ethel Markley who preceded her to heaven. Her older brothers, Richard and Terry Markley and her older sister, Judy (Markley) Sheffield also preceded her (she was always the last to arrive). Her son, Charles May, (also the life of the party) went to heaven early to warn and prepare everyone for her arrival.
Her children left behind but who also got to watch her "fly away" are Butch Lee, Yvonne Clark (James Clark), and Judy Pettikas-Barnes (Patrick Barnes). Barbara was proud of and deeply loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren Brent Miller, April (Miller) Hills, Jacob Miller, Aaron Miller, Justin Clark, Constance (May) Fox, Charles May II, Emily May, and Christopher May and her 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the American Lutheran Church at 332801 Hwy 2, Newport, WA this Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10:00am. Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 11 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Park cemetery at 900 N. Wolf Rd., Northlake, Illinois.
We love you so much! You will be greatly missed, and then some! Sherman-Campbell Funeral and Cremation Services in Newport is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book at shermancampbell.com.
