Obituary

Alison "Deni" Denise DeBord Hamil

October 25, 1960 – April 26, 2024

Alison "Deni" Denise DeBord Hamil, age 63, passed away on Friday, April 26th in Spokane, WA after bravely fighting a year-long battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by those closest to her and was grateful she had the opportunity to say goodbye to so many that she loved.

Deni was born in Moses Lake, WA on October 25th, 1960 to parents John "Jack" DeBord Jr. and Kathleen "Katy" Myers and was the second of four children. She grew up in Bellingham, WA. Deni and her first husband, Frank "Chip" Roe, had two children together, their daughter Rachel and their son Nathan. They raised their children in Deer Park, WA. In 2003, they amicably divorced. She met her second husband, Charles "Chuck" Hamil, in 2007 and they married September 11th, 2016. They spent 17 happy years making memories and sharing many travels together.  Deni loved her family, gardening, and travel. She worked as a travel agent and also spent many years working at Deer Park Veterinary Clinic. She was dedicated to doing what was best for her children. She also loved her pets, especially her cats Lily and Duchess, and later Cleo and Titi. Deni passionately maintained a beautiful garden, containing a variety of flowers and even raspberries, tomatoes, corn, and pumpkins! For each season and every holiday, she would meticulously decorate her home with that theme. In college, she traveled to Germany as an exchange student. She also had adventures in Hawaii, Vegas, Alaska, the Bahamas, Montreal, Ireland, and Italy. Deni was preceded in death by her father, Jack DeBord; her brother, Donnie DeBord; and her aunt, Joan Myers. She is survived by her mother, Katy DeBord; her brothers, Russell and Jeff DeBord; her nephews, Greg and Zach DeBord; her husband, Chuck Hamil; her grandchildren, Allison, Lindsay, and Logan Hamil; and her children, Rachel and Nathan Roe. Her surviving friends and family will always remember her kindness and cherish their fond memories with Deni.
