December 16, 1987 – February 7, 2025

Alex Frederick Brown, 37, passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2025 at their family home in Oldtown, ID. He was born on December 16, 1987, in South Bend, WA to the late Don and Christina (Frederick) Brown. Alex received his high school diploma from Raymond High School in 2005, (Go "Fighting" Seagulls as Alex would say!) Growing up, Alex played numerous sports including basketball, football, running track and baseball (though his baseball career was never the same after catching a fly ball with his face!) He was a loyal friend, who spent lots of time having bonfires, and camp-outs on the hill behind his childhood home. He also had a knack for construction class in school, which led to him volunteering his time with the Habitat for Humanity, where he built numerous homes for those in need. This led to him receiving the Washington State Wave scholarship. Alex also loved spending his time on machines that went fast. He went on numerous motorcycle and snowmobile trips with his uncles, cousins and friends and raced in a variety of dirt bike races across the state.

Alex always knew how to, and enjoyed working hard, so during high school, he began his natural gas career by working for his Uncle John's company doing private residential installations. Then he attended one year of community college at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA. After that, it was back to work at Infrasource as a general laborer and he was quickly promoted to an operator. When Lacey and Alex moved to Newport, WA in 2017 he began working for NPL and had been there ever since.

In 2014, Alex achieved what he called his greatest accomplishment, when he married the love of his life, Lacey Kaye Anne Malsbury. Together they built a beautiful life, that revolved around Jesus and their 2 beautiful kids, Lynden (6) his fishing buddy, and Christina Leigh (4) his princess. In December 2024, they celebrated their 10th anniversary and in January celebrated with a trip to Mexico. In 2021-22 they built their dream home in Oldtown, ID with room for the kids to roam. Together they enjoyed numerous days on their boat as a family, fishing at the river with Lynden, worshiping Jesus and serving at the church in the Royal Rangers program, home projects for themselves and helping their family with theirs, and genuinely loving and pouring into their family and friends or anyone who crossed their path. Recently Alex found immense joy in the little things, like sitting with Lacey on the front patio in their rocking chairs while the kids played in the yard, mowing his lawn, barbecuing dinner for the large family gatherings, taking Lynden to the mountain for ski days, playing dolls and taking motorcycle rides with Leigh, and reading his bible and talking about all the blessings the Lord had bestowed upon him and his family.

Alex leaves behind a tremendous legacy of the purest form of kindness anyone has ever known. While life had thrown its obstacles at Alex, like the passing of his parents at a young age, he didn't let that get him down, and instead turned to the positives in life, and used his experiences to help others with their own struggles. He will be remembered for his mischievous giggle, side eye and smirky grin, his deep, bent over belly laugh, being the life of the party with his great energy and unique dance moves, and scratching his back on any wall corner or post that he came across. His eyes told you everything you needed to know about Alex, because all you saw in his eyes was love and kindness to everyone who crossed his path. Alex was a true protector of his family. He took the role of husband and father with the highest amount of pride and purpose. He fiercely loved his best friend and confidant Lacey, and kids Lynden and Leigh, and protected them with every bone in his body. He also took so much pride in being an uncle. Hudson, Anderson, Vivienne, Dylan and Millie were blessed to have a goofy and selfless Unkie, or as he called himself Mimisiku, who was always game for the next fun adventure or a huge warm hug. He was always happy to be one of the kids and make every moment memorable for his kids and nieces and nephews.

Alex is preceded in death by his father Don, and mother Christina, as well as his baby boy Asher and cousin Dylan. Alex is survived by his wife Lacey, and son Lynden and daughter Leigh, brother Andrew (Geri) of Puyallup, WA, sister Abby of Puyallup, WA, brother and sister in law Colton and Ivy of Priest River, ID brother in law Kyle of Oldtown, ID, and brother and sister in law Brian and Holly of Cashmere, WA. Along with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles that he loved and that loved him dearly.

As we all process the passing of a soul gone way too soon, we take solace in what Alex knew and fiercely believed to be true, which is stated perfectly in Ephesians 3:18-19 "May you be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes all understanding; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God". Alex knew the love of Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit. It was hard to have a conversation with Alex without feeling the Lord's presence, kindness and love flowing out of him, or without him mentioning how good God had been to him. While he is gone far too soon, his memory will never be forgotten, as we don't have to look too far to see his face in his son Lynden, and the twinkle in his eye, in his daughter Leigh.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2025@ 11AM with reception immediately following, at the House of the Lord church, 754 Silver Burch Lane, Oldtown, Idaho. A GoFundMe has been set up for Lacey and the kids as they move forward with funeral and everyday expenses. We thank everyone for their prayers and support during such a difficult time.
