Albert Joseph Kingsford passed away on Saturday; December 29, 2018, at the age of 75. He was born in Brigham City, Utah, on September 8, 1943, to Elmer Albert Kingsford and Edith Maren Olsen. He was later raised in Montana and California. He graduated from Warren High School, in Downey, California. He served a two-and-a-half-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Austria. He served briefly in the US Army, before marrying Maaike Hielkema, also from Downey. They were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on March 18, 1967. He graduated in 1968 with an AA from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, Ca. Maaike and Albert had 4 beautiful daughters, and an honorary son. The family settled in Newbury Park, California.

Albert worked as an accountant, a banker, and a financial controller until he found his niche as a Set Decorator and painter in the Motion Picture Industry, from which he retired in 2004. He worked on several well-known television shows and movies, which included Murder She Wrote, Matlock, Melrose Place, E.T., Fight Club, Medical Investigation, Amazing Stories and many others. During this time, he also started "Uncle Al's Book Nook" with his wife in their garage. They eventually moved to a little strip mall store front, where the store prospered until the family moved out of the area in 1986. The family lived in Frazier Park, CA until all the kids began their own lives, and he retired. Albert and Maaike then moved to the Sandpoint, Idaho area. Once settled, they served two missions for their church, one at the Family and Church History Mission in Utah (2009) and a second at the Freiberg, Germany Temple (2011).

One of the most important things in Albert's life was to be involved in scouting with the BSA. He was a scoutmaster for 15 years and continued to be involved with it for most of his adult life.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother John Kingsford (Judy), his sister Marren Kingsford, wife Maaike, daughters Lisa McBurney, Bonnie Burnett (Steve), Julie Thompson (Zach), Victoria Coleman (Brian), honorary son Royce Hull (Tammy) and 10 grandchildren, Spencer, Bailey, Hannah, Brandon, Abbey, Michael, Raegan, Kassidy, Maddy, and Harper.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 331 Westmond Road, Cocolalla, ID.
